I’m Adam Stultz, your host on “Around Town” Carroll County.
Ever since I was a child I knew I was going to do something involving movies and video. 4 years into running my own video production business, I felt it was time to take the next step and produce a show.
I didn’t want this to be just any show. I wanted a show that Carroll Countians could feel proud of. I wanted a show where all of the awesome entrepreneurs, business owners and community members were celebrated for their accomplishments and more importantly their contributions back to the community.
I want this show to provide value to your life and inspire you to take a chance on your dreams. Working for yourself is challenging but also the most rewarding thing I feel you can do with your life.
We are all better and stronger when we work together and I deeply hope this show is the foundation to opening up hearts and minds and moving towards a more peaceful, accepting and kind world.
The Around Town Mission
We believe that Carroll County, Maryland is a great place because of the people living and working right here – the entrepreneurs, mom-and-pops, rising stars, local makers, and other pros who risked leaving their 9-to-5 (or are planning to) to pursue their own dreams.
Our mission is to shine a spotlight on our local businesses and hustlers through our Video Podcast Show, “Around Town CC”. Why?
To stimulate the SUPPORT LOCAL mindset.
Shopping local makes a huge impact in your community. By doing so, you support the passion of an entrepreneur. Your capital maintains a staff – people that are your neighbors – who live here, play here, eat here, and shop here too. Your local purchases are taxed, and that capital is re-invested right here in your county.
By shining a spotlight on our local biz owners, we hope to see the community more engaged with each of our featured guests, keeping your money and other avenues of support local.
To encourage rising talent to STAY LOCAL.
There is a false belief that you have to leave Carroll County to do anything big or meaningful. It is absolutely not true. Carroll County is home to both HUGE and SMALL business, from ground-roots agricultural to highly advanced technology – and even a combination of the two! We also have some of the best connectivity in the world, with high speed internet and access to countless major cities. Carroll has a gravitational pull, so even if you try to leave, you will discover that this place we call “home” is the perfect place to put your entrepreneurial roots.
To foster ENTREPRENEURISM.
A lot of us are telling ourselves the wrong story. You may think the 9-to-5 is safe, and that going out on your own is dangerous. Your doubts may have slowed you for so long that for years and years, you find yourself still building someone else’s dream instead of your own. But the moment you learn about someone else’s story… about their struggles, about their failures, about their wins, and ultimately about HOW THEY MADE IT… you realize that anyone can do MAKE IT. Even YOU can make it.
To inspire the next wave – our YOUTH.
Youth in our own county are doing amazing things (and we hope to feature some of you on the show very soon). Young kids are starting non-profits, businesses, and developing apps. You young hustlers are the next wave and we want you to find a home right here in Carroll County, Maryland.
Please join us in our mission to get these stories out there. We believe fully that once people get to know each other at a deeper level of trust and growth will prosper.
Over time we, intend to put out Season after Season of “Around Town”. And eventually we hope to take this beyond the show to include in-person events where you can meet the show guests and other entrepreneurs.
We are excited by the number of people that have expressed an interest in being part of the show, just in this first Season. Thank you all for your support and shared excitement!
